Amputee Walking School near Greenwood, IN
Kenney Orthopedics • May 12, 2021

Kenney Orthopedics is more than just a stop on your prosthetic journey. We are a community dedicated to providing opportunities to educate and empower all amputees to help them reach their highest potential. Our signature program, the Amputee Walking School, has been educating, empowering and inspiring amputees and therapists in Kentucky, Indiana and North Carolina for the past 17 years.

Amputee Walking School is a unique program available to amputees of all ages near Greenwood, Indiana (IN).

This unique program is led by 2 former Paralympic athletes (both amputees) who earned gold medals and broke world records in track at the 1988 Paralympic games in Seoul, South Korea. Our instructors provide training in advanced amputee exercises appropriate for all levels and abilities. We introduce the dynamics of prosthetic devices and how to properly control them. As a result, therapists gain necessary skills to help advance their amputee patients to the next level, and amputees learn how to use their prosthesis more effectively, enabling them to interact with their environment with more confidence.

The Amputee Walking School not only offers a unique format for collaboration between amputees and physical therapists, it also offers an opportunity for all attendees to develop lasting relationships. We encourage amputees of all ages and abilities to join our clinics and engage with our innovative and caring community.
